A win for New York City's men and women in uniform. A Manhattan Supreme Court judge on Friday overturned the city's vaccine mandate for the New York Police Benevolent Association and said members who lost their jobs for being unvaccinated should be reinstated. Manhattan Supreme Court Judge Lyle Frank ordered the city to reinstate PBA members who were fired or put on leave without pay because they refused to get vaccinated.

Tom Mungeer, President of the New York State Troopers PBA told One America News there have been recruitment challenges in the past year due to the overall lack of support from lawmakers.

"The irony is, is, you know, people are walking out the door, they don't wanna be cops anymore. The numbers are greatly reduced coming in the door."

The judge's ruling comes just days after Mayor Eric Adams announced that New York City is lifting its COVID-19 vaccine mandate for private sector employees and for public school students who want to participate in sports and other after-school activities. The mandate still remains in place for city employees.
